Fits cat door

I was looking for a single free 180 degree hinge for a cat door. This is a hole cut in our basement door which is just a sheet/plate of quarter inch wood where the hole will go. So I cut a 5" x 8" hole, and instead of making a big hole in the door I wanted to reattach the cut piece with the hinge up so the cats could get through, but that would still make the basement pretty dated Ground floor thermally insulated. Room for a hinge and 180 degree rotation of the cat flap. After that, the cat door swings freely and everything works pretty well. I'm posting because I bought several different hinges to try this out: , 3 flag, hinge, 1, flush hinge: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IFRK8I/JR Products 70635 Chrome plated uncut hinge - Pack of 2: http://www.amazon.com /gp/product/B002UC6TH4/Slide-co 164240 3 "x1" Satin Nickel Double Door Hinge: http://www.amazon.com/ gp /product/B0042L0N9G/ All three hinges are infinitely twistable/rotating a full 360 degrees, meaning you don't get to the point where they work like normal loops. However, the JR Products hinge is pretty tight and doesn't swing freely at all, and there doesn't seem to be a way to take it apart to put some lube on it, so I guess it's design. So it wouldn't work for this application. But the other two loops oscillate very freely (almost no resistance) and both would work. I ended up using the first one above. As for the finish on this slide-co hinge: I agree with other reviewers that it's not brushed nickel. But it doesn't feel like a cheap "chrome" finish either. It looks like solid polished steel to me, and I think it's quite beautiful.
