These Edifier speakers have a very nice solid design. The lighter wood texture along with the gray accents/grilles give it a nice modern look (a nice change from regular black speakers). They're not big and intrusive, but performance is decent for their size. They are quite expensive for their size compared to some Polks or other brands that even come with a larger tweeter and woofer. Most of my other speakers are pluggable, so my ears are used to their brighter tones. These Edifier speakers favor mids and lows. However, this means your ears won't ring when you turn up the volume. What you hear is powerful, clear sound with no distortion. In any case, I don't need to turn these speakers up too high as they are only intended for normal bedroom listening. I connected them using a simple 2 channel Sony Str-dh130 16 gauge cable. I used a wall mount so it's good that it has a front shot hole. The bass is pretty decent for its size, but I don't notice it rattling my drywall or window, which is good. Overall I am happy with these speakers. 4 stars because they are more expensive than the competition.
