Quality meets expectations. For a beginner just right. You will always take it with you, it does not bother you, the size is like a whale 18-55. I dropped it from a tripod on the day of purchase, Something inside fell off, (in the lens), maybe some kind of screw, but the lens works, AF functions, another one would fall apart. CONCLUSION: Don't skimp on a tripod. The tripod must be reliable, and therefore not cheap.
