This lamp is intended for a very specific market and requires electricity. It cannot be dimmed and has no diffuser, meaning the light can be harsh on reflective skin. The only attachment is via the included Velcro straps, one of which attaches to the included threaded mounting block. This device has a standard 1/4-20 inch thread. What I dislike for GENERAL use: You have to provide power. No diffuser. No color or brightness adjustment. What I like for general use: Very flexible, can be around a tube or wrapped in a transparent tube (I wouldn't go as low as 3". Can be glued to a glass screen. For special purposes: use with a laptop, gimbal or Phone and as a power source It's lightweight and Very portable It weighs next to nothing You NEED an adapter to power your phone as it has a standard USB port /or if you need temperature and color control there is there are cheaper alternatives that are lighter but heavier and much thicker.
