Well, my experience with this product started off on the wrong foot. I found that the tape was not installed in the corner beading as shown and that there are no instructions. Contacting the seller didn't help so I was ready to give up. Today I tried again and used the method I have used with similar products used in my car restoration hobby. Clean the surface first with the small sponge provided or use an adhesive remover to really clean the surface the tape will be sticking to. Then apply the red-backed tape to the back of the door edge, as close to the edge as possible but not quite to the edge. Leave about 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) of red backing tape so the tape is where the bar ends but the red backing is longer. Press to make sure it sticks well all over. Now take the protective cover with the long side to the back and straighten the hole so that it slides over the edge of the door and the band. Be careful not to expose the sticky side of the tape. Use a small rubber mallet and tap the edge to make sure it's a snug fit. Now hold both ends of the 1/2" red protective tape you left behind and slowly pull away from the edge while holding the edge with your other hand. The red backing slides out, laying down the sticky side of the tape, press it firmly and finally tap it again with a hammer. The result is a great job and as I used a transparent border you will hardly notice the border is there. I think the supplier would do wise to provide instructions and possibly a youtube video, this will go a long way in helping future customers.
