If you are interested in DIY deck building, this is a must have. I am renovating and extending a 25 year old deck and have installed composite. Decking on first section 12x10 with no spacers, assuming the Concealoc clamps I used would automatically spread the planks evenly. Big mistake. Upon completion, the gaps were very different and looked like crap. So I bought several sets of these clamps and used them on a 15ft x 12ft dining deck where the gaps are exactly the same. I made a 3/16" Timbertech Clearance and a 1/8" Azek Trim. I've even found that I can correct a slightly non-square deck by using them to alter one side 1/16 inch from the other, resulting in gaps that look even and overlaps that are exactly even .
