Review on 🔲 White EK Tools Square Punch, 0.50-Inch, New Packaging by Carrie Spencer

I bought this punch hoping for a relatively decent hole quality as others have mentioned it is metal but was disappointed to find that only the cutting part is made of metal and is very soft while metal dulls easily. The pressure lever of the cutting head is made of plastic, so if it weren't for the soft cutting head itself, this would be a weak point. I'm pretty sure it's soft cast aluminum or zinc. It's definitely not the hardened tool steel you'd expect from something designed to cut and stay sharp over time. The head was actually crushed and deformed to the point where it couldn't move its full reach or cut anything. The cutter head was catching on the sides of the square hole it was supposed to fit in due to the metal bending/compressing outwards and I had to take everything apart and file the sides of the cutter head (which was very easy). considering how soft the metal was) to get him to cut something again. made of such soft metal (much softer than even cheap scissors).
