This solved a big headache for me. I can't believe Apple isn't making this more obvious to idiots like me who just assume everything they sell works together. The Mac Mini M1 only offers 1 Thunderbolt monitor output and 1 HDMI output. It will not work with two LG UltraFine 24md4kl without this adapter (be sure to use a USB-C cable, not a Thunderbolt cable). You lose some functionality on an Ultrafine powered by an HDMI monitor. You need an app like Lunar to control the brightness from the keyboard (works great!). The USB ports don't work either. You'll need to reset your computer to allow it to "scale" more text. More space" under "Settings" > "Display". It's honestly a step backwards for the Mac Mini, but at least this device offers a workaround as I have people waiting to use these computers.
