The iron is very cheap and it shows, but I only needed something for the occasional quick and dirty soldering in my apartment. It's good enough for some basic soldering work, but don't expect it to do and remake SMD or anything like that. The tips are surprisingly good and hold up well. I recommend not using the sponge that comes with it, do yourself a favor and buy a brass razor tip cleaner to protect the tips! My only complaint at the moment is that the temperature control is pretty finicky so I just set it to max. Also, the stand is really small and it's easy to knock the iron off of it. Those issues aside, it's a great budget kit for quick on-the-go work or basic stuff, and it's excellent value for money.
