I was trying to remove some rust from two nice metal sliders that were in my basement (where I lived in a rented apartment) when one of the pipes burst. I didn't have time to clean up because my work demands were so high that I was sometimes working 12-18 hour days (I'm lazy!). Now that I've moved in and have some free time I thought this would help with my rust and peeling paint issue. Even stronger bristles didn't seem to matter. I had to go elsewhere to get an actual wire brush. However, they can work for jobs that require less aggressive 'interventions'.
