I purchased this product to use on a sofa cushion after trying several other methods of cleaning and not getting the results I wanted. I've had enough of those stains and streaks around the house to feel the purchase was justified. I also bought a Hoover brand solution, although it was expensive, because I knew it was recommended not to use other brands and I knew the sample size wouldn't be large enough for the job. Pros: Excellent suction power. The water came out very dirty which showed me that it was actually removing accumulated dirt, stains and grime. Cons: GOES BAD. No, it wasn't because it was too crowded. No matter how little or how much solution and/or dirty water was inside, the vents on the back would allow dirty water to seep from the bottom of the unit. This led to the appearance of new stains on the carpet. AND EVERYTHING The purpose of his purchase was to get rid of stains. Generally disappointed. In conclusion, and this is more of a criticism of the decision itself, however. Choosing the Hoover brand was VERY strong. Some solution got on my skin (I was wearing gloves but I had to take them off to unscrew the plate to flush the hose and I touched the solution that was leaking from the bottom) and my fingertips turned white from a slight CHEMICAL BURN.
