This balance bike is perfect for teaching balance to a nervous child without the distraction of pedaling. My 6 year old daughter only spent 15 hours on this bike before gaining enough confidence to slide down a gentle hill without touching the ground until she slowed to stop at the end. She soon wanted to return to her traditional bike, which she was afraid of falling off. Now she is a confident cyclist who rarely gets into accidents and in such cases she handles herself well.
