It is a bit expensive compared to some other caps. This is due to the larger solar panel compared to cheaper options. My problem isn't the looks or the solar panel, it's the design of the LEDs. They placed one LED on each side, and since LEDs emit very directional light and are very small light sources, the "dark shadow" is real. If you use your mailbox for the mailbox or for the back porch railing you'll probably be fine, but I use mine for the house number. The only numbers you can use with it are stickers or other flat numbers. I folded aluminum numbers that stick out in a column and nothing shows except for the first one because the rest is in shadow. What would solve the problem would be to place the two LEDs off-center on each side. This would cast shadows to the sides instead of straight down, hiding all the numbers.
