These tights have a different waist than most other tights and shorts. It is a high, broad band that achieves a medium to high rise. In dance class, the group rolled down a little when I moved, but not enough to bother me. But it's a very small waist. The tense legs are good, but the tense stomach hurts my stomach. However, it stretched enough when I moved. The CW-X leggings really help alleviate some of the soreness I usually get after a run. I'm not sure if the compression reduces vibrations or if it's a placebo effect or something, but afterwards my body is happier when I exercise (run, walk, dance) in CW-X. Not much compression. in the quads in this pair as well as some of the other CW-X pants I wear for running, but the compression is enough to pull them on. The CW-X compression pants must be very tight and difficult to put on. Use your regular leggings size and if you're between sizes go up. Your sizing is pretty accurate.
