Review on Mount RAM B 138U Double Ball Surface by Kevin Ilango

First of all, this is really a test of this mount in combination with the RAM Mounting Systems RAM-HOL-GA16U plastic stand. I bought these to install an ETrex Vista on an Emotion Mojo fishing kayak. Since I couldn't find a mount specific to my use case or any reviews that mentioned mounting it on a kayak, I really wasn't sure how well it would work. I couldn't have asked for more! The construction of both parts is very solid and it is obvious that they are perfectly matched. I needed something compact as there isn't much freedom of movement in a kayak, especially when fishing. The powder coating on the metal looks like it will stand up to the elements and I'm not worried the hardened plastic could take a wrong paddle hit or two. This surface mount comes without screws but comes with a bracket. A set of screws with dowels would have been useful, but they only cost a few euros at the hardware store anyway. I'll post some photos later. for surface mounting. CONS: None * Surface mount * PROS: Rugged, weather-resistant, and compact design. Easily change the stand to almost any position with a turn of a knob. Multiple holes for attachment. Cons: No screws included.
