Review on πŸ”Ά DEWALT DXV04T Yellow Portable 4 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum Cleaner by Mike Roe

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great for odd jobs

Bought this to clean the ash pan on my Kamado Joe grill. The smaller and more flexible hose makes cleaning the ash and firebox much easier. Although this is a good compact vacuum cleaner, the price is very high. The vacuum cleaner comes with a hose, 2 extensions, crevice nozzle, floor nozzle, paper bag (DXVA25-4040), cartridge filter and foam pre-filter. The hose is soft and flexible, unlike the hard plastic hoses commonly used in wet and dry vacuums. It would be nice if it came with a brush like most wet/dry vacuums. The power cord is only 20 feet long, giving you ample access to outlets. At one end of the top is a hinged lid for storing grout tools and floor tools. There is a bracket on one side for attaching extension cords. There is a cord at the end of the unit for storing the power cord. The storage space for the magic wand is annoying. The extensions snap into place, but I've found that once installed, they pop out to the left or right of the clips if you end up tilting the unit. I don't need hoses so I use hose holders to store the hose. Since I vacuum up fine ash with a vacuum cleaner, I use a paper bag attached to the end piece inside the machine. Even with a filter cartridge and paper bag, the thing has enough suction power. A paper bag is a great way to keep the inside of the device clean. Its toolbox-like shape allows me to keep it on the bottom shelf of my grill/smoker workspace. It's a bit big for its size, but given the presence of an engine, that's understandable. All in all a very good vacuum cleaner. If that price was lower (currently $94) it would be a much better deal.
