The drive I received was first marked "TERASCALE" which made me wonder at first if I made a mistake with the hard drive would have. After looking up the model number in Seagate tools, it found the correct specs, but also had a few references to Dell, so I'm guessing that's where they came from. In any case, the hard drive works perfectly. My problem is the background noise. Very loud. If you have an external hard drive on your desk, this is what it sounds like. I have a quiet system in a quiet room and that's all I hear. Just a constant buzzing and spinning noise. For some of you it doesn't matter much. But then it clicks. At first I thought I had a non-separable one, but the clicking is normal. After being idle for a few minutes, the hard drive keeps trying to park its head and this clicking sounds like it's failing. A common problem with these drives, you can find the solution on YouTube. which is not really a solution. Basically, you need a program to write a small .txt file to your hard drive. Keep in mind that this only works if you want to use it on your desktop. If you can handle the noise and clicks, this is a solid hard drive.
