I normally use 5GHz power supplies but for my laptop I need something small enough but powerful with an adjustable antenna to help out in weak signal conditions. It has a built-in Wireless-N adapter, but it's not very good. This one is perfect and the price is fantastic. Literally as soon as I plugged it in it started working. I installed the driver anyway, but it looks like you might not need it on Windows 10. What I liked most is that the physical USB port is thin and doesn't get in the way of nearby USB ports. Other Wi-Fi adapters (especially power adapters) take up a lot of space and often make nearby ports inaccessible. I have some technical and setup tips to make the signal even better on Windows 10:1). Make sure your router is tuned to the 40MHz channel. Wide if you want to get the full speed of the adapter. Previously, my 2.4GHz channel was set to 20MHz wide (default - usually good for older devices) and I was getting a 65-72Mbps connection, but when I switched to 40MHz the speed picked up Top speed advertised at 135-150 Mbps. (The connection speed is the connection speed between the Wi-Fi adapter and the router, do not confuse it with the download speed.) The connection is stable and reliable. 2) Make some minor changes from the default settings in the adapter settings of Windows 10. In the lower right corner of your Windows 10 screen where you see the WiFi icon, right click on it and select "Open Network and Sharing Center". Then click "Change adapter settings" on the left. Locate your wireless adapter and right-click, then select Properties. Then click on "Setupβ. On the far right tab, click "Power Management" and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save battery". Then click on the "Advancedβ tab. Set Media/Gaming Environment to Enable and Selective Suspend to Disable. This will give you a slightly more stable signal. After these adjustments, it's noticeably faster and I'm happy with the adapter.
