Using a sledgehammer and impact drill I removed a 50 year old pink bathroom floor tile. As the tile came out, most of the grout stayed behind, creating a rough surface. There was no way I wanted to pour floor levelers and raise the floor even higher, plus cost and time. Tried it out on a Dewalt battery powered angle grinder. The grout came off so easily I couldn't believe it. The old concrete was harder than mortar, and the grinder went right over the concrete, making a level surface suitable for tiling. I made about 25 square meters in 20-30 minutes. I wet the floor to keep the dust out. A wheel was used and worn slightly less than half the thickness of the diamond wheel. Highly recommended for such an application.
