Review on Flowmaster 42543 2.5-Inch Inlet & Outlet 40 Series Muffler by Samuel Hansen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Dodge Charger R/T 2010 5.7 Hemi.

I removed the case silencer and left the resonator in for about 4 years. The sound was loud but hoarse, not the deep rumble I was looking for. After watching a lot of YouTube videos and reading reviews and ratings, I decided on two Flowmaster 40 series, removed Reso and Day and Night from my old setup. Cold starts are loud, aggressive and deep. They have a hum around 1750-1900 rpm, but that's easy to take. My wife and kid didn't complain about the 3 hour drive we took the other day. When you reach cruising speed, the noise in the cabin becomes very low. But if you step on him, he'll break his neck! I installed them at a muffler shop as there was a lot of custom pipe to be made. Out of the box I repainted the mufflers as they had a few scratches that bothered me but they were minor. I don't regret my setup for a minute and the sound of my car is always complemented.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
