Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Enhanced SPD Dual Platform Pedal by SHIMANO PD-M324: Maximizing Performance and Versatility by Brandon Carr

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Versatile and great

To be clear, these pedals are not meant for racing. It never was and never will be. They're too heavy and, as some commenters say, can scrape the ground on tight corners. BUT if you are like me and want to use your bike for multiple purposes then these pedals are perfect for that. I have them on a 2009 Cannondale CAAD 9 (pretty cool road bike) but I also use this bike for my Spring/Summer/Fall Friday commutes 33 miles (one way). Also, I like to walk around town in regular shoes and don't worry about cycling shoes. The platform side is good when you're making a full stop at a traffic light because you don't want to worry about having to buckle up when the light turns green and you don't want to buckle up if you have to stop again. in a block or two. I am planning to compete in a triathlon this fall and I will be using these pedals because I can't afford to buy new pedals just for this purpose and they will work great for me. Anyway, I don't intend to win. Overall I'd say these pedals do an excellent job for what they were designed for and are good enough for other purposes (racing, mountain biking, etc.) when you need to stretch your $$$.

Pros
  • Great all round performance
Cons
  • Hard to say
