Fantastic Quality SUP At A Reasonable Price Point

The weather isn't warm enough for me to float test this SUP yet, but I'm anxiously awaiting the opportunity. The good news is that I don't need to put it into the water to realize what a fantastic board this is going to be. This board is heavy duty and should last for many years with normal use. Before getting into the details on this SUP, I want to comment that I also recently acquired an ABAHUB Convertible SUP / Kayak. It retails for $500, so it is considerably higher than the $300 price point on this SUP. As expected, it has a few more features and it is a bit more durable overall. It is 2" wider and can accommodate 375 pounds (compared to 350 pounds with this model). Is it worth the extra $200? For the casual user, I don't think so. This NACATIN board is well made, heavy duty, and is perfect for most users. While it doesn't come with a kayak seat, the D-rings are available to attach any seat that you purchase separately. If you are a large person, or somebody who prefers just a bit more stability, the extra 2" of width on my more expensive SUP is actually quite noticeable.Setup is very simple, but requires a bit of strength and endurance. After unfolding the float and attaching the included heavy duty manual pump, you'll find it to be quite a workout to fully inflate the SUP. I inflated it until I was tired and then took the attached photos. It was inflated to 12 PSI. The manual recommends a PSI of 15 for actual use in the water. Once inflated, the only other assembly necessary is to attach the center fin. This is a very quick and easy process. The board has three fins. Two are permanently affixed, so you need to be a bit careful not to press them into the plastic when rolling the SUP for storage (it is recommended that you keep the styrofoam packing materials which are made to fit the two fins during storage) The center fin should be installed and removed with each use. It is deeper than the other two and could cause damage if you roll up the SUP with this fin attached. When fully inflated, the board is very large and stable. It can easily be converted into kayak mode using any seat that you purchase separately. The seat attaches to the SUP in four places using D rings (two in the back and two in the front). To use the SUP as a kayak, you'll also need to purchase a double-sided kayak paddle. This bundle comes with a very large dry pack and a waterproof cell phone bag. A repair kit with two very large patches is also included. The SUP comes with a heavy duty storage bag/carry backpack. It easily fits absolutely everything in the main section and will also accommodate some personal items. The backpack is large, bulky, and not especially comfortable to wear. However, the SUP and its accessories are such a large item, that no storage solution is going to be perfect. One major flaw with this backpack is that the center strap is not long enough. My husband is 6' and 220. The strap doesn't even come close to fitting him. Since the board is made to accommodate up to 350 pounds, it only makes sense to use a longer strap. If you are looking for a well-made, high-quality SUP package, you won't be disappointed with this one!
