I screwed up but it's not very forgiving to start with

I screwed up but it's not very forgiving to start with. I placed it on my boat and my transom wasn't quite straight and I barely managed to grab some of the bottom welds. The outer ring clamps, but the middle one doesn't clamp at all. I only found out because I set it too low. Again, I know I messed up the setup by getting bottom welds, but it wasn't as forgiving as other liquid glue products.
