After we resisted buying a "real" kitchen scale for too long, we decided on this Escalis because of the looks, among other things. Well, it's both a spectator and a performer. The detachable bowl is ideal for weighing and beating eggs for pasta or dry ingredients for baking. Cleans like a dream. The tare function is good and the accuracy against known quantities corresponds to that of the dial indicator. It's overall light enough that we can drag it around the kitchen and into the prep area without much effort, and the analog aspect makes us happy. Digital is not always better.
