Review on Aisin WPV 800 Engine Water Pump by Tremain Lapan

Volvo independent dealer installed these for my XC70 along with the timing belt, pulleys and tensioner service. After about two days I noticed a slight drop in coolant level from the reservoir. I checked for leaks under the car but couldn't find anything so I just filled it up. Two weeks later I get a warning on the dash saying low coolant so I take it back to the mechanic for a day and he finds that the gasket has dried out somehow which in turn is causing coolant to run out of the area out of the water pump. The Volvo shop ended up buying a new gasket for this unit and reinstalling the water pump. Luckily I wasn't charged for a new part of the pad or even the work of the second tooth. Be wary of the condition of the seal and consider buying an extra one if yours is the same as mine. That issue aside, the water pump kit is great - it matches the original Volvo part that was factory installed.
