Well, the cigarette lighter on my dash cam stopped working. Rather than buying a replacement for around the same price I decided to try this fuse link kit to hardwire the unit. This frees up my SUV cigarette lighter for a cell phone charger, which is a plus. After researching I chose this kit because it has everything and more. The Micro Mini is what I need to get my DVR up and running. Also, 4 different fuse taps allow me to easily and quickly move this kit to another vehicle if needed. Installation was easy for me as I do a lot of DIY work. But anyone with a basic knowledge of electrical engineering will be able to install this plug and play kit. I decided to put a fuse on the accessory so that the power is cut off when the car is turned off. Although this kit has a built-in shutdown feature, my dashcam does not have parking monitoring. Just make sure you have the original car fuse on the bottom of the faucet and the power fuse on the top faucet where the red power wire is located that connects to the included 15ft black box cable and you're good to go. The fuse was difficult to insert into the faucet, so be careful not to break it. Bought a second set for another car.
