Not bought for sandbags but for general camping and hiking use. They're a bit bigger than I wanted, but they make up for it by being cheap and durable. We'll use them to collect firewood, pack gear in our trucks and in our backpacks, and use disposable bags to clean up the trash piggy tourists left behind. A good thing!
