Review on NGK RC EUX068 Spark Plug Wire by Adrian Ojeda

NGK is well known for manufacturing high performance products. This is not the case with these wires. I have now ordered 2 sets of these wires, the first about 3 years ago and the second arrived today. The length of the wires in the first set was not the same, and some were too short, making them very tight. My 2002 Discovery recently started misfiring on cylinder 5. When removing the NGK cable from connector #5 (also NGK) to inspect it, the cable completely detached from the connector. Nothing rusted, the included dielectric grease was applied during installation, the crimping of the connector to the cheap silicone wire insulation was just extremely poor. I started pulling wires from each connector and almost every one of them broke the same way. At that point I ordered 8mm wires from a reputable company but they didn't arrive in time to get my car running when I needed it. So I ordered another pair of these NGK cables as they are the cheapest option and Prime got them here in a few days. After examining the cables upon arrival, I was surprised to find that none of them had a cylinder number and all were marked '0'. I will install these today along with fresh NGK coils and spark plugs. NGK connectors have always worked well for me in some cars, but this is my first time using their coil packs. I hope they are of better quality than their wires. In general, I would advise everyone to find the best quality wire for their purposes. For Discovery 2: Kingsborne, STI and Magnecor are known to be good brands. Just stay away from those NGK cables. I don't think they are even trying to make a good product at the moment.
