I've had this 1950's sink for a while and didn't know what to do with it. A few stains had already been touched up with a very biscuit-colored putty. I checked a few of them but left most alone as they were in perfect order. My main goal with this project was to fix the sink in such a way that we could use it for many years without the metal falling apart any more. The faucet holes, only 2, were rotted and one of them was almost twice the size it was originally. At first I thought about using Bondo. But I decided I would try this product when I saw it. The product itself is quite thick; Think natural peanut butter. The app is a bit tricky as it is very sticky at the beginning. I had the best application results about 20 minutes after mixing as it was less runny and more like a dough. Fill a larger area? You need to fill it in, sand it down and do a second coat. It covered everything very well and only a bit of rust around the faucet hole is showing through. In any case, the faucet will cover it. Contrary to what others have said, it's not seen through. In fact, it's so opaque that it covers the BLACK steel of the sink (my finger points to where I patched it). . The mini spatula had an uneven plastic blade and left lines everywhere (starting from the center of the blade, NB). Sandpaper is also very cheap. I want to buy a few things to go with it: Popsicle sticks Soft scrub OR bartender's friend Toothpicks Plastic mixing cup Gloves 80, 100, 120, and 200 grit sandpaper (although you can use any grit you like.) Lime, foam, and rust remover Face mask (for sanding ) Mixing: I used 1/3 can for an area of about 10 x 12 (all the spots I filled in). I used 2 teaspoons of Part A and Part B. Don't use the same spatula in the other part or you'll throw away the whole jar without being able to reuse the kit. Mix well. I added 1 point black and 1 point brown from the mix to the side of the mug and added a small amount of the mix to the paint. Stir properly. Gradually add this color mix to the rest of the epoxy mix to get the desired shade. Getting the right color is easy if you add color very slowly and check as you go. I finished everything with a good sanding. I didn't wear a mask. please do it Breathing in this dirt is uncomfortable. I am very satisfied with the result. It cost me $65 to purchase this sink which means the solid sink with this kit and accessories was around $100. I still have plenty of product for other projects. Tips: A VERY thin layer will show through a little. If you're repairing a stain that only needs a light coat but the color underneath is dark, I recommend using paint to set the chips onto the dark stains and then adding that after it dries. Sand between coats to improve adhesion. I didn't have to do this, but if you're worried, take the extra step.
