The direction of these types of motors is controlled by magnets in the housing. If the motor runs in reverse DO NOT CUT THE WIRES, simply loosen the three small case screws and rotate the case one set of screws. If that doesn't work, turn the case over again. The direction of your motor changes. It's not the best motor - it doesn't seem to work well even with my cleaned and oiled hinges whose bushings are in good condition - but it's cheap and it works. If you want perfect and fast work, choose $400 OEM. If you just want it to work, this engine will help you. Oh, and they actually delivered the right side, which I can't say about the other Revain products/third party I've tried before.
