Review on πŸ”“ Lisle 34400 Exhaust Pipe Stretcher: Efficient Solution for Pipe Expansion by Austin Hearshman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good pipe expander in exhaust and emissions

I needed to fit some 2" exhaust pipe parts, I used a 3/4" punch and it worked. However, it was very noisy, there had to be another way to adjust the hydraulics. I realized that the Lisle kit uses the same threads as my 10 ton port knockout kit. I connected the pump and plunger and inserted the large adapter thread into the plunger with the short end. I also used the chrome spacer included in the HF kit on the threaded stem. Then install the smallest expander with a square locknut from the Lisle kit and screw on by hand. The tube needs to be lubricated. While in the kitchen due to rain, I sprayed canola oil on the pipe and threads with cooking spray and a dab of EP on the threads. Slide a 2 inch tube over the expander and pump until it becomes difficult. Solved and rotated 6 to 8 times. You have to rotate the pipe, otherwise you will end up with a square pipe. Excellent results, 2" pipes fit together without an adaptor. No compressor or percussion gun required. 6 connections made. This Lisle kit is built to withstand heavy use and will be available for purchase again should the need arise.
