Homemade Exhaust System Prerequisite

Anyone who has made their own exhaust pipes knows the frustration of receiving a component with a dented connection or one that "almost" fits but doesn't. Well, this tool ensures that you never have to be disappointed again. It's a small change, but it's better than letting someone else do your work, and maybe not to your liking. I didn't even mention consumption. Usually the socket is not open enough for the pipe. But what if it was open too much? I used to just scroll through the clip, which…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Minor Repairability

This works great if you have a good air compressor, a good punch gun and time. I used it to install a catalytic converter on my truck, I need to stretch both ends to a 3-1/8" ID. This requires reading the instructions and testing the adapters to see how it works. You will need to lubricate the threads of the bolt/nut assembly with anti-seize and start by installing the largest adapter that will fit in the pipe and start stretching. You will need to stretch and loosen, rotate the tensioner 45…

Pros
  • Brilliantly Made
Cons
  • Fading

Excellent value for money for spare parts

I also find comparisons to hydraulic flaring absurd. Comparing that to a $5,000-1,000-pound floor machine is completely ridiculous, so I wouldn't pay too much attention to them. The tool works well, simple and straightforward. there will be reed torches like no other. As the wedge dries out the force required increases significantly and I don't think you'll have much luck trying to use it without the 1/2" drive in. For larger flaring jobs, simply turn the reamer. Head 90* from time to time and…

Good pipe expander in exhaust and emissions

I needed to fit some 2" exhaust pipe parts, I used a 3/4" punch and it worked. However, it was very noisy, there had to be another way to adjust the hydraulics. I realized that the Lisle kit uses the same threads as my 10 ton port knockout kit. I connected the pump and plunger and inserted the large adapter thread into the plunger with the short end. I also used the chrome spacer included in the HF kit on the threaded stem. Then install the smallest expander with a square locknut from the Lisle

Pros
  • Impressive
