Review on Alessi Parmenide Cheese Grater Red by Danielle Roberts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great design, nice to have on the table

It may not be practical for cooking (it's best to have an ordinary multi-faceted grater in the kitchen), but it's perfect for the kitchen table. I grate the Parmesan Reggiano into the basement and save for dinner, then cover the leftovers with plastic wrap and refrigerate in a container. So it's ready for the leftovers the next day. It has a fine grid from which strands of cheese, about 1.2 cm long, fall out. The harder cheese you use, the better. When I first got the grater I struggled to separate the metal grate from the basement but after that it loosened up a bit and now goes in and out easily. I've used it several times and washed it in the dishwasher with no problems. It's also a great prize for an Alessi product that's known for its sophistication and fun in the design world.

Pros
  • Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it promises
