Love this cheese grater

I have one of these and love the look and design of this grater and it is easy to use. I ordered it as a birthday present for my son-in-law who is a good cook. He likes it too, noting that it's particularly good for grating parmesan.

Beautiful and very functional

I love this thing. I bought this from the SFMoMA store and came back here for more gifts. A sturdy little grater - functionally well thought out and aesthetically pleasing. Very happy with it. And, for the record, I grate some pretty hard cheeses, so the only reviewer who didn't find it strong enough for hard cheeses has to grate stones!

  • Not bad

Good design makes chefs happy

This cheese grater stands in two world-class museums as examples of excellent design and fine art. In your own kitchen, it takes a little concentrated work to get a grater out of its nest. The trick is to pry up a corner as if you are going to rip it off and work with the smaller hole, which appears to be the top of the item in the picture. This is a great way to serve Parmesan or any other hard cheese to the table, grating it gently and getting just the amount of topping you want. Great gift.

Great design, nice to have on the table

It may not be practical for cooking (it's best to have an ordinary multi-faceted grater in the kitchen), but it's perfect for the kitchen table. I grate the Parmesan Reggiano into the basement and save for dinner, then cover the leftovers with plastic wrap and refrigerate in a container. So it's ready for the leftovers the next day. It has a fine grid from which strands of cheese, about 1.2 cm long, fall out. The harder cheese you use, the better. When I first got the grater I struggled to…
