I have a '09 JCW R56 and yes it does contain the actual valve cover. I wasn't sure if I should buy this one given how cheap it was, but it's surprisingly well made. It is very durable and the plastic is fiber reinforced. I had no problems with the installation. The holes don't line up as well as the original cover, but they're big enough for screws to go through easily. There were some random bits of plastic in the bubble wrap (during the molding process, not on the lid itself) so I pulled out the gasket and cleaned the channel with a cotton swab.
