I expected mediocre quality, but it was a pleasant surprise.
Very decent rubber among cheap tires. Maintains control of the vehicle, plows through the muck, and there are no reports of hydroplaning. In the M+S budget market, there are virtually no rivals in terms of price and quality, making this market virtually uncontested. Extremely resistant to wear; after approximately 50,000 miles of use, there is only 30% wear someplace. But after this wear, it begins to buzz tremendously, and the hum (similar to that of a failing hub bearing) begins at 40 kilometers and continues until it fuses with the general background after 90 kilometers. I was unable to take it, so I sold it and got Yoko Prada instead; the two are absolutely unrelated, the former has no rumble at all while the latter has better other attributes, albeit having a different price tag.
- Price, resilience to wear, and good road holding are all important factors.
