Review on 2 Pack Of Otdair Solar Wall Lanterns With Flickering Flames For Outdoor Lights, Hanging Solar Lamps For Front Porch, Patio And Yard by Cori Nance

One light stopped within a month, good customer service increased it one star.

I purchased this set of lanterns to add some light to my backyard outside my storage shed. Initially they both worked but within a month one light stopped working. I tried moving the non-functioning light where it would receive direct sunlight for a couple days and that didn't help. I swapped the batteries between the two lanterns but the other still didn't work.*Update 1/13/21*A month after posting my initial review, I received a response from the seller apologizing for the bad experience. They promised to rectify the situation and sent out a replacement. I received the lanterns and placed them outside to charge, waiting 3 days before I turned the switch to ensure they were adequately charged before I continued this review. I also forgot to mention in my initial review that the housing is metal and there appears to be real glass, which is a nice touch. I finally mounted then turned them on the evening of the 10th. Both lights came on and I was impressed with the brightness of the light. After roughly 7 hours one of the lamps turned off. The 2nd lasted another hour and a half. I took a series of pictures to document the progress and how long each light lasted. The following night we got around 4½ hours from each. I assume maybe this has something to do with not getting as much light due to it being winter. This has been mentioned by several other reviewer. Unfortunately they need a lot of sunlight to work through the night. Maybe this is due to the manufacturer using only 1200 mAh batteries (in laymen terms the higher the mAh rating, the more energy storage capacity the battery has, and the longer the battery life). This may be the answer to the issue other reviewers have pointed out; the fact that battery choice is limited to the suggested 3.7V 1200 mAh 18650 Lithium Battery. It would be interesting to find out if a higher mAh battery, say a 9800mAh High Capacity Li-ion Rechargeable Battery, would significantly increase amount of time the lantern fuctions.

Pros
  • ‎Monopoint
Cons
  • The lanterns may be too small to provide adequate lighting for larger outdoor areas
