I give this mass airflow sensor only 3 stars overall because it solves your problem instantly and gets you out of a jam. IN THE INTERIM! The sensor went off and the check engine light came on. I ordered this, installed it, the problem was gone. Cool! Well, this sensor literally only lasted 3 months! Ordered on September 5th, installed on the 15th. The car was in the parking lot from September 22nd to December 20th when I again decided to get behind the wheel of this car. (I was driving my X5 due to a snow storm we were driving through Missouri. Only reason the 5 Series was parked) Anyway, I drove the car for 7 days. On December 28th the Check Engine light came on again and the car started to drive sluggishly. Checked for codes, of course, and low, and that's the mass airflow sensor throwing it. Good news because it's a low-cost solution, but bad news because this sensor is technically still new. CM. In a nutshell. Good product if you only need to fix one problem. Obviously not for long term use and repair. Therefore, the price is around $20. For some, this might be worth a quick fix. For others. Pay the $80 difference, buy the OEM brand and don't risk embarrassment if your bandage comes off while driving just 3 months after you put it on.
