Review on KEDSUM 1060GPH Submersible Water Pump: Ultra Quiet, High Lift, & Versatile for Fountain, Pond, Fish Tank by Jill Weingartner

This pump was purchased for a water change in an aquarium. For this purpose it works great. How long he can do that, I can't say at the moment. But if he dies prematurely, I'll let you know. Now for the pros and cons. Pros: Works well. I now have a 5/8 hose. It took about half the time for the pump to drain the water through the python changer. Supplied with multiple size hose adapters. Didn't sound too loud, but I only use a general purpose pump. I love the molded handle. Has a power cord about 6 feet long. Cons: The weight of the pump makes it feel solid. However, the fact that the bottom and top covers are never "tight" (they move a little) makes you think otherwise. It comes with suction cups for the bottom cover/pickup screen. They were very difficult to get hold of. I can only remove them because you are most likely leaving the bottom cover glued to where you mount the pump. However, I would not mount this pump on the side wall of the aquarium. The bottom cover is very easy to remove. Other than that, it's good for what I use it for. I don't think I would use that in an aquarium to pump out a sump or other important area. UPDATE: AMAZING! Bought this pump in July. The download will stop in September. Disassembled to see the impeller. To my surprise, it had a ceramic impeller shaft. To my disappointment, it now had a three-piece ceramic impeller shaft. I checked with Revain to see if they have replacement parts for the pump. NO, NADA, NO. However, after googling, I found out that Kedsum has a Facebook page. I sent a request through the courier to purchase a pair of new shafts for the pump. They reacted very quickly. And now the AMAZING part. They sent me two impeller shafts for FREE. That's right, FREE and not one, but TWO! At this point I have to say that Kedsum has excellent customer service. I would recommend it as a great multi-purpose pump. It moves large amounts of water very quickly. I prefer to do water changes in the aquarium.
