Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ Impressive IOGEAR Ethernet-2-WiFi Universal Wireless Adapter, GWU637: Efficient, Reliable, and Sleek in Black by Russ Freeman

Works great for my remote printer! :)

You can configure it in two ways, the configuration depends on how your router is configured. If your router is running with the default settings, you should be able to simply press the WPS button on the router, then press and hold the WPS button on the iOGear Ethernet 2 Wifi and it should connect automatically. I followed the user guide to set up the device manually as I have my own passwords and needed to program them into the iOGear device. The guide is easy to follow. HERE'S THE TRICK: Once you've programmed the device and are ready to connect to your router via Wi-Fi, PRESS AND HOLD the WPS/RESET button until the light next to the button starts blinking. Once that's done you can let go and it should sync to the router. I had to be patient and it took some trial and error because the manual doesn't describe the PRESS AND HOLD part. from the device when I'm not typing. I could only imagine how hot this thing would be when downloading movies or games. It's definitely not built for that, and the price doesn't promise that kind of performance. If the device was a bit larger with a built in heatsink/cooling system, I would try it in applications other than the printer.

Pros
  • USB network adapter
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

If you have WPS on your router, it's shockingly simple to get running.
