Should be standard and included in the mailbox
This should definitely be included in the mailbox. Works for what it takes and is built to last. Note that on at least some large mailboxes, if you are installing "long ways" on a 4x4 post, you will need a piece of wood between the mailbox and the post to fill the gap. It's hard to explain, but it's a pain in the ass if you don't anticipate another trip to the Home Store. You should have included that separator as well.
