📬 ARCHITECTURAL MAILBOXES 4x4 Steel 7540B-10 Mailbox Adapter Plate - Black, 4x4 Inch Size Review

Two of the four built in screws/bolts were sheared off during the installation of this adapter. I hand tightened the nuts and they just fell off. It seems to me that the quality of screws, nuts and bolts is poor. Since this bracket is designed to hold mailboxes securely, including lockable mailboxes, it should hold up better or people might just snap the mailbox off I think. The photo shows where two of the four screws are broken.

This should definitely be included in the mailbox. Works for what it takes and is built to last. Note that on at least some large mailboxes, if you are installing "long ways" on a 4x4 post, you will need a piece of wood between the mailbox and the post to fill the gap. It's hard to explain, but it's a pain in the ass if you don't anticipate another trip to the Home Store. You should have included that separator as well.

The mailbox holder is well made. But the specs in the description for selling the thing were blacker and quite a bit. It would be nice to know that I had to order a specific post to carry it. The 4x4 metal frame just didn't fit and the description should have said not to order a frame and advised you on the best product for that application. I would recommend this product and its correct use, but I have not had a good experience.

If you need a mailbox mount that doesn't wobble, look elsewhere. Basically it's garbage. Two stars only because the holes are well drilled and perfectly match the Oasis Jr (aka Oasis Classic) mailbox. In contrast to this thin plate, the post and the plate welded to it are quite strong.
