Review on Kwikset Signature Series Deadbolt 99090-018 - Pack of 1, Satin Nickel by Michael Hellewell

Works great. I moved into my house and needed to replace the latch on my front door. I bought another brand first but the order fell through (and I didn't have much money) so I was VERY skeptical when I looked for alternative viable electronic bolts. Quixet did not disappoint. My old castle was also Kwikset so it was pretty easy. Everything fitted except the part that screws into the door jamb which was higher than what was carved into the wood of my jamb. But I only left the old one. Installation took about 2 hours (yes, I did it all myself with a screwdriver and a comfy chair). The instructions were easy to follow and it was installed within months without incident. What I like about this lock is the ability to mute the sound and the LED indicator on the back of the unit. A HUGE bonus in my book as my front door is in the middle of my living space. Runs on 4 AA batteries that I haven't had to change yet. The box behind the door (inside the house) is quite big, but I got used to it. The locking mechanism that moves the bolt is quite noisy when in operation, so a bit annoying at first, but again I got used to it. It's SUPER easy to program - just follow the instructions. Also, don't enter the number too quickly. I've encountered several instances where it couldn't keep up with my numeric input. The lights behind the numbers shine brightly at night, and I don't think I would change anything about that solid bolt.
