This plate had a lot of what I was looking for. I like that it has a wooden handle but two open sides of the blade. Most higher-quality wood boards are single-sided, which can also reduce the bread's depth of cut. This also means I can change blades less often. The weight and length of the grip suited me perfectly and didn't feel bulky like some of the thinner pens. I sometimes bake in multiple places, so having a box is a huge plus for me. It has a nice case and a leather sheath for the blade. This seems to help make it more secure and protect the case. My previously lame one had a notch that held the blade in place at the top of the handle, but it stuck out too far and sometimes caused double cut lines, which was my biggest issue with this chrome. This handle allows you to adjust the position of the blade and does not create double lines. With the extra blades and the box that this knife came in, I immediately felt like I got my money's worth. Obviously this is a tool made by bakers. I would recommend it to anyone in the bread industry or experienced bakers!
