I love this coffee maker for all of its features and benefits except one. The reusable filter holder is the worst option! The upper valve breaks off. And that very soon after the purchase. You can still use the filter system after that part breaks, but it's junk. It feels like I bought a piece of crappy system that the whole system is not. Only this critical fragment. This means that if you don't want to live with broken parts, you'll keep buying that part until you finally decide it's time for a new system. And it's expensive. It's possible that Cuisinart could improve on this part. But will they? How can they be motivated to do this if we don't have to spend $60 a year on that one piece?
