Was a spare part. My original filter broke at the hinge after almost 2 years of use. The one I just got was already broken. The loop hangs on a plastic thread. Expensive and probably not going to last, but I was desperate for this part and couldn't find another seller. The manufacturer was sold out, otherwise I would have bought them.

The basket and bracket work like the originals, but why are they made to break so easily? The price is also ridiculous for something that shouldn't break. The hinge on the replacement is the same plastic as the original and I'm sure it will break no matter how careful I am. If you read the reviews, many people have the same problem and there is no one-size-fits-all alternative.

I add EZ-Carafe Perfect Pod filters for the perfect cup of coffee and no mess. Simply remove the paper filter when the coffee is brewing and dispose of the used coffee grounds cleanly. is cheaper on cuisinarts website. The seller was terrible to deal with. I've been using this for 2 months and have used it multiple times and they said it was gone within the 30 day window. ok i understand but it is defective do not sell items like this. However, Revain went through and they refunded the money. I never like to leave bad reviews, but yes, these mugs definitely have a design flaw. The cap breaks off after about a year and went through 2 where the filter detached from the plastic.

I love this coffee maker for all of its features and benefits except one. The reusable filter holder is the worst option! The upper valve breaks off. And that very soon after the purchase. You can still use the filter system after that part breaks, but it's junk. It feels like I bought a piece of crappy system that the whole system is not. Only this critical fragment. Bought to replace the one that came with my Cuisinart SS-15 (which I love by the way).
