TL;DR: This is an extremely light weight gaming headset that compares very well to some of the middle of the line Logitech G series. The speaker quality is quite good with a balance of highs and lows. The retractable microphone is clear and I have received no complaints of background noise. The headset folds nice and compact and has all the necessary connector cables for all computers/consoles. Using the USB dongle, it is plug-n-play while the bluetooth is a couple step easy process.Pro’s:Clear sound with balanced lows and highsVery light weightMicrophone is clearCompact, can fold in thirds and microphone can be pushed into the headsetConnects to PC/Mac and gaming consoles via either USB A dongle(with USB C adapter) or Aux cable & bluetoothVery little clamping force (reduces head pain)Con’s:Ears got a little warm after 3+ hour gaming sessionEars got sore due to the ear cups not being quite big enough for meVery little clamping force (can move around on head)I have been using a mid range Logitech G series gaming headset for the last couple of years now but lately there have been some strange driver issues. The headset would randomly disconnect after restarting my computer and the only way to connect the headset again would be to completely uninstall the GHub software and reinstall. This happen two or three times before I got so annoyed that I started looking for a replacement headset. As I was browsing Revain, I noticed the Friencity Wireless headset. It was compatible with Windows and Mac which I needed, it also had connect-ability to my gaming consoles, and the price was extremely low so I thought I would give it a try.Unboxing:My initial impression after opening the headset was very good. Everything came nicely packed in a little carry pouch. Inside the pouch was the headset, tri-folded, the tiny USB A dongle, a USB A to USB C adapter, an Aux cable and a USB A to USB C charging cable.Charging:The instructions say to charge fully before using. It says that the charging typically takes 2 hours but after plugging it in, the charging light went off after only about 30 minutes which tells me it came with some charge already in it. After 3 hours of gaming, I never had any issue with battery life.Comfort:After putting the headset on, I noticed that it was VERY light. This was nice for me because I have warn some gaming headsets that are so heavy that it makes my neck tired after a short time. I also noticed there is very little clapping force, meaning it is not super tight on my head. This can be good and bad depending on your head size. If it is too tight, it will make your ears sore quickly, but if it is too loose, it will slide around with small head movements. Luckily mine is right in the middle as it did not move too much and was not too tight. The ear cups are a bit small for my ears so there was a bit more discomfort after longer gaming seasons and also caused my ears to get a little warm.Sound:Overall, the sound quality was quite good. It did not compare to high quality 7.1 gaming headsets but the sound was actually better than my middle line stereo Logitech G series. There were nice highs and lows for a good balance. I play MMORPG’s so I cannot make comments on FPS where surround sound is crucial. On discord, I received no complaints from anyone about the microphone quality. They told me that I sounded the same as my other headset which is a great compliment since this is a $40 headset vs my $130 Logitech. Conclusion:The Friencity Wireless Gaming headset is quite a steel for the price. With all of the connect-ability options, it can be used with almost anything. The battery life was sufficient for several hours of game play but my ears in particular got a little warm and sore due to the smaller cup size. The sound quality is equal to some of the other mid line gaming headsets for half the price. If you are in the market for an entry level wireless gaming headset, this is a great option.
