This is a very hard molded plastic, not like the mudflaps I've had before. They are very stylish and look great on my car. However, it took me some time to install them. My Dodge fell into the category of 'large stone shields' at the base of the wheel well which the manual said should be removed. Removal revealed the lines where the paint had worn off and the new fenders did not cover those lines. The "pre-cut" plastic cases weren't pre-cut, and even after I cut one and tried it, it didn't help the situation much. us to remove them. I understand why they didn't, but it would have made the landing better. In addition, the shape on the bottom creates a kind of "funnel", which seemed to me to be a problem. This is to avoid "bumps" at the bottom of the wheel well, but it seems like a great way for water and ice to get onto the body panels. just didn't feel right. In the end, as you can see from the photos, I drilled some new holes and simply added Husky fenders over the existing standard large rock fenders. The front part is slightly curved and the back part opened like a glove. I added an extra screw on the back and some black RTV in between and I'm very happy with the result.
