Update from previous review

Updated February 20, 2015 I previously gave this product a poor review based on my first experience. I contacted the seller and he offered to replace the original scale I was having all the problems with. Even though the warranty had already expired when I contacted them. The seller sent a new scale for exchange and didn't even ask to return the old one. You have just processed the order and sent a new one. The original scale still has the issues described below other than the calibration issue, but it works and can be used as a backup in a pinch. I have received a new scale and would like to report that the new scale does indeed work as advertised. . The display shows the decimal point in the right place, the readout is stable and shows 0.0 on power up without the insane fluctuations that were the problem with the first scale. The seller also says you don't need to calibrate the device unless it resets to zero when you turn it on, and he recommends not calibrating the device too often. I was at a loss as to how to calibrate the scale and then show double the actual weight. This issue was not reported in my original review. I found that I accidentally used a 100 gram weight instead of the 200 gram weight required during calibration. I still don't know why the device shows "pass" after calibrating with the wrong weight, but that's exactly what happened. Despite my calibration oversight, the original scale had some legitimate issues, but the new unit has none of the issues I described in my original review. I'm right and would definitely recommend this compact scale, especially for the price. For a scale in this price range, it does a good job. Below is an initial review: I followed the instructions to calibrate this scale but it does not stabilize enough to accept the calibration. In addition, when the scale is turned on, it performs the start-up process, including the display process, where all segments of the display show a decimal point. Nevertheless, the decimal point is in the wrong place when using the scale. There must be a space to the left of it (e.g. 20g will be read as 200g depending on where the decimal point is shown). I see no valid reason for this. The last two digits on the right swing up and down by up to 2/10th of a gram, meaning the scale cannot be used to within 1/10th of a gram as advertised. In addition, these scales do not have an AC mains, they only work with batteries. In addition, the taring function can only be carried out when the device is switched on. In order to perform a tare after turning on the device, it must be turned off and on again at the time of turning on with the container in place. Update your previous rating. After several attempts to calibrate this scale I was finally able to get it working and it seems to be working relatively well so far. Another frustrating issue I've had with these scales is that they time out and shut off when actively using the scale. I chop my kitchen herbs in a bowl until I reach my desired weight, and although the weight changes as I continue chopping the herbs, the scale still runs off. This requires transferring the contents of the bowl to another container to allow the scale to be re-tared, which is only possible by turning the power off and on again and then pouring the contents back into the bowl before beginning the weighing to be ready. Herbs. The feet on the bottom of this scale are molded plastic and cannot be adjusted. My scale will not stand on a perfectly flat, level surface without padding one of the legs to keep it from rocking back and forth during use. I cannot recommend this product and would suggest spending a little more to get a better scale. The old adage that you get what you pay for is true.
