I bought this because I needed to drill about 50 holes in my new woodworking workbench. I had a set of Grizzly Forstner bits that wouldn't cut through wood unless you really exposed the bit with lots of force, like the cutting edge was at zero degrees and wouldn't bite. This Irwin drill bit is 10 times better and drills through cherry, maple and pine with ease. Very clean entry and the central serrated edge is long enough to work with a hand drill without drifting. Even a few holes in the solid oak were fine, although it started smoking deep after an inch. I am satisfied with the price and purchase.
